  13. got severe probs with Motorola Power (Rom ver 4) and win95 Dial-up-network  
  14. (BTW: This concernes _only_ to PAP Password authentication protocol):

  16. 1. When I do use dial-up-network connect message is only `connect-speed`  
  17. though full message (\V4) is activated (and errorcontrol + compression,  
  18. too).

  20. 2. My Modem log shows following strange lines:

  22. 03-03-1996 18:40:35.43 - Interpreted response: Connect
  23. 03-03-1996 18:40:35.43 - Connection established at 28800bps.
  24. *03-03-1996 18:40:35.43 - Error-control off or unknown.*
  25. *03-03-1996 18:40:35.43 - Data compression off or unknown.*
  26. 03-03-1996 18:40:35.87 - 115200,N,8,1

  28. This is only while using dial-up-network, when dialling via dos-terminal  
  29. program to same number, message shows `28800/V34/V42bis`
  30.  
  31. 3. My PAP TCP/IP connection is very often not established due to the  
  32. following fact:

  34. 02-26-1996 01:42:25.36 - Connection established at 26400bps.^M
  35. 02-26-1996 01:42:25.36 - Error-control off or unknown.^M
  36. 02-26-1996 01:42:25.36 - Data compression off or unknown.^M
  37. 02-26-1996 01:42:25.86 - 115200,N,8,1^M

  39. Now 17 sec. vanish without win95 activating PPP-Protocol, remote modem  
  40. server waits 10 sec. for activation of ppp, if this does not happen userID  
  41. and password will be asked for, if remote modem gets no response it will  
  42. hang up. As it happens here and so many times:

  44. 02-26-1996 01:42:42.59 - Remote modem hung up.^M
  45. 02-26-1996 01:42:42.65 - Recv: <cr><lf>NO CARRIER<cr><lf>^M

  47. I even tried multi: tried all kinds of modem settings, seems likely to be  
  48. a ppp win95 prob
